Meet the Team
Our Story
After more than 30 years of providing trusted, high-quality mental health care in Michigan, The Center for Counseling (CFC) is thrilled to bring its compassionate and creative approach to Chattanooga, Tennessee. As a practice rooted in the belief that healing should never be one-size-fits-all, we’re excited to partner with this vibrant community to offer therapy that truly meets people where they are.
Led by a father-daughter team, CFC blends deep clinical experience with a modern, person-centered approach. After building her life in the South, Catie Whiting, LCSW, PMH-C, saw the need for accessible, out-of-the-box mental health care in the Chattanooga area.
Her father, Bill Whiting, M.Ed., LCSW, joined her with over 30 years of clinical expertise
to co-lead this next chapter of CFC’s journey,
bringing the heart of their Michigan-based practice to Tennessee.
At CFC, we offer more than traditional talk therapy. Our services include evidence-based treatment along with movement therapy, expressive arts, nature-based practices, and other experiential approaches that support the whole person, mind, body, and spirit.
We provide individual therapy, perinatal and maternal mental health care, family support, and trauma-informed services for children, teens, and adults. Every person’s healing path is unique, and we’re here to honor that with care that is as creative and individualized as you are.
As we grow in Chattanooga, we’re also looking to connect with like-minded therapists and counselors who believe that there is no health without mental health and who are excited to think outside the box right alongside us.
Welcome to The Center for Counseling. We’re new to Tennessee, but we’re bringing decades of experience and we can’t wait to grow with this community.
